Purchased this driver after many months of internet researching all the different types out there.
My primary use is driving drill casing pipe 2 7/8 into hard red clay. I did buy the t-post attachment too. So far I put up a 1000' of fence with several gates. During the fence install I drove about 20 pipes with it. Minimum depth 3' and maximum 5' with no problems. Average time for each post about 10 minutes. Only problems were user error. Even though machine is relatively easy to use, like anything experience goes a long way. After about 5 post I felt very comfortable using it. I bought the inline oiler, happy I did. Keeping it oiled with the proper oil is key.
Although I had help on most of the pipes, i did drive several by myself including a couple of 9' pipes that I drove 5' into the ground (I am 54). They took about 22 minutes. Very happy with machine.

Bought the 99E-M , but was not able to drive it more than 10-11 feet, it stops and won't go beyond.
Tried few hole and lost 4 wellpoints.
I guess it's made for sand not any other type of earth.
have to sell it

The Rohrer post pounder performed as promised and sure beats a sledge hammer if you have a lot of posts. We had 70 - 48" steel "U" channel post stubs for traffic signs to drive 34" into varying soil conditions since it was a construction site. In most instances the average driving time was 2-3 minutes. In 7 or 8 locations we found that we had to use a sledge hammer to finish driving the post, which tells me that the heavier Model might have been better for our situation. Over-all, this driver is the most cost beneficial unit on the market, and the support from Maudie was outstanding.
